Meet The Coaches of Highlands Wrestling Club
Coach Prescott Weldon

Coach Prescott Weldon

Coach Prescott Weldon is the head coach for the Highlands Wrestling Club and runs both the K-5 and 6-8 practices. He wrestled and played football at Father Ryan High School in Tennessee from 8th grade to senior year, acheiving a second place at state level tournament one year. During Coach Prescott's high school wrestling career, he was also greatly involved with the Nashville Catholic Wrestling Club, an athletic program that had much to do with his success as a high school wrestler.

While training with the Nashville Catholic Wrestling Club (NCWC), Coach Prescott learned to have fun while pushing the limits in a strict, intense program. Besides the development of self control, discipline and an incredible work ethic, Prescott also credits the NCWC with teaching him the value of having large numbers in an organized club. He stresses, "a wrestling club with large numbers offers more training partners; the more different training partners you can have the better your team will be - you must have different training partners all the time".

Coach Prescott went to college at University of Tennessee, where he played Rugby but also stayed involved with wrestling. While at UT, Coach Prescott volunteered his services as an assistant wrestling coach to Karn's High School while his brother, Michael Weldon was the head coach. During this time, Prescott honed his coaching skills while dedicating himself to training his brother's team once/week for 4 years. Now at Highlands Wrestling Club, Coach Prescott works with all ages and is totally commited to keeping wrestling fun while delivering a challenging program to prepare kids for the hardships of high level high school wrestling.
