Highlands Spring 2015 Takedown Tournament

Registration cost:  $20
Pre-registration deadline:  Saturday, March 28th, 3pm (no exceptions)

Weigh-ins onsite:  7:30-8:30am Sunday, Mar. 29th
2 lbs. allowance          
Overweight wrestlers must bump up to next weight class and pay $25 re-bracketing fee
We reserve the right to combine weight classes as we see fit to make for a smoother tournament and provide the best competition.

Wrestling starts at 9:30am for all divisions!
Tots - born 2009 or earlier; Bantam - 2007-08; Midget - 2005-2006; Junior 2003-04; Middle School 2000-2002; High School 1996-1999
NO CARDS REQUIRED!!
Medals awarded through 3rd place.
5-6 mats. No Breaks. Concessions all day! HWC tournaments are always on time!

*SPECIAL BONUS*
From 8:30-9:30am we will have a special guest speaker. The Head Wrestling Coach of Ferrum College, Coach Nate Yetzer will speak on what it takes to become a top college wrestler and give a short clinic on takedown technique. Before Ferrum, Coach Yetzer was an assistant coach at VA. Tech for 6 yrs. and the Ohio Junior National Team for 4 yrs. before that. He was an All American when he wrestled for NCAA Division 1 Edinborough University winning several titles in the 174 lbs. weight class. In high school he was an Ohio state champion.

Rules:
One, 3-minute period.
After a takedown, wrestlers will have approximately 10 seconds to turn their opponent. After that time if a turn is not immanent, wrestlers will be placed back on their feet. A point WILL NOT BE AWARDED to that wrestler being placed back on their feet. Points are score by escapes, reversals, takedowns & back points (standard point values).

as follows:
k-2/3-4/5-6 - Check in: 730-830. Wrestling starts at 930.
7-8/H.S. - Check in: 1030-1130. Wrestling starts at 1230.
